Andrea Roach, P.Eng., C.T. is certified for Portuguese-English and Spanish-English. She is a former Chemical Engineer and has been
working as a full-time freelance translator for around eight years,
specializing in engineering/technical text. She has been using CAT tools in her work for a number of years and could not imagine her life without them.

This is an INTRODUCTORY-level workshop on memoQ. It is meant for people who:
have little to no experience with CAT tools, and
who are curious about how a CAT tool could improve their productivity & accuracy, and/or
have been holding back on learning how to use a CAT tool, because it seems daunting to get started.
The workshop will use memoQ as the example CAT tool, but most functions shown will be similar in other CAT tools. The workshop will include a functional demo, as well as an overview of different CAT tools available on the market currently.

- What types of documents can be input into a CAT tool
- How a set up a project and get started
- How to use a TM (translation memory)
- How to use a term base (glossary)
- Creating a two-column bilingual document for review
