Dana Koehler, MSc | Romanian–English Interpreter
Dana Koehler is a Romanian–English interpreter based in Calgary, Alberta, with over 3,200 hours of interpreting experience. Since beginning her interpreting career in 2021, she has worked across a range of sectors, including legal, healthcare, government, insurance, financial, and social services.
Dana holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Alberta and is CILISAT-certified. She has completed specialized legal and court interpreting training and is committed to continuous professional development and maintaining high standards of professional practice.
Her interpreting practice is guided by accuracy, impartiality, confidentiality, and respect for all participants. She believes that clear communication is essential to meaningful participation and access to services, and she takes pride in helping bridge language barriers so that individuals can express themselves and be understood.
As a native Romanian speaker originally from northeastern Romania, Dana is also familiar with the Romanian spoken in the Republic of Moldova. She is passionate about facilitating effective cross-cultural communication and contributing to the quality and professionalism of the interpreting field.
